Summary Itinerary
Day 1, Thursday, December 2 – Morning departure from Baton Rouge (or other home airports). Arrive New York at 2:00 p.m. Transfer by private motor coach to our hotel, our home for three nights. We do a walking tour of the area, including the Rockefeller Center with its Christmas tree and lights. Instead of a walking tour, you might choose to enjoy the hotel and Times Square area.
Tonight at our leisure.
Day 2, Friday, December 3 – This morning you may choose ABC Good Morning America or NBC Today Show. Then our morning guided city tour takes us by Madison Square Garden, Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Wall Street, Brooklyn Bridge, Fifth Avenue, Ground Zero, Central Park, and much more. Tonight we attend the Rockette’s Show.
Day 3, Saturday, December 4 – This morning’s sightseeing tour is to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. In the afternoon you might do optional visit to the Empire State Building Observation for a spectacular view of the city and area (adult -$10, senior - $8) or you might do a walk in Central Park, or visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art (adult -$12, senior - $7). Tonight we attend the popular Broadway Show “Wicked”.
Day 4, Sunday, December 3 – We have most of the day to enjoy New York City. We leave our hotel at 4:30 p.m. and transfer to the airport for an 8:00 p.m. flight home. Arrive in Baton Rouge at approximately 11:30 p.m.
New York City is a fabulous place to visit. The things that interest tourist are centrally located and easy to find. Most are within walking distance of our hotel. Manhattan is laid out as a perfect grid and it is nearly impossible to get lost. There is so much to do and you may use your time as you choose. Some optional suggestions are:
· Broadway Plays – Phantom, Mamma Mia, Lion King, etc.
· Visiting some of the world’s greatest museums – Metropolitan, Natural History, Frick, Guggenheim
· Walking around – Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, Grand Central Terminal
· Shopping – Upper end and bargain. We will be within walking distance of Saks, Tiffany’s, Macy’s, etc.
· Lincoln Center – Philharmonic Orchestra
