Itinerary Natchitoches, LA - Join us for a wonderful day of shopping and lunch with a guided tour of the city and plantation. Enjoy the beautiful lights on the river and homes.
Lori Tate will be our local guide for the day. She has been in several movies, including Steel Magnolias, where she played the mother of the groom. You will enjoy her!
6:30 a.m. Depart Zachary, LA
7:00 a.m. Depart Baton Rouge
8:15 a.m. Depart Lafayette
10:30 a.m. Arrive Natchitoches – Tour Fort St. Jean Baptiste and the 33 historic
blocks of Natchitoches, including Steel Magnolia film sites.
12:00 p.m. Enjoy an included St. Augustine luncheon of meat pie and trimmings.
Tour the church and cemetery.
1:30 p.m. Included tour of Melrose Plantation, dating back to 1796 and
a national Historic Landmark. See paintings of renowned artist,
Clementine Hunter. Return to Natchitoches for shopping downtown.
5:30 p.m. Supper on your own – a suggestion is Merci Beaucoup to enjoy their
cajun potato. Then we see the river lights and lighted homes before
our departure home at 7:30 p.m.
9:30 p.m. Arrive Lafayette
10:30 p.m. Arrive Baton Rouge
11:00 p.m. Arrive Zachary
