Features world renowned Passion Play of Oberammergau, Germany. Performed only every ten years from May to September, four performances per week. Performances are in two parts – afternoon and night. We have reservations, good hotels and tickets. Beautiful scenery throughout. Also feature a five night stay at a great hotel (Alpen Residence in Ehrwald, Austria) in the Austrian Alps with day trips from there.
Price is per person based on double occupancy and includes airfare the Passion Play package (1st class tickets to the play, 1 night local hotel, 1 dinner, 1 lunch), superior first class hotels, breakfast daily, 6 dinners, full sightseeing, all entrance fees, baggage handling, all taxes and tips (including tips to guides and drivers)

Itinerary
Day 1, Wed., Sept 1 – Morning depart Baton Rouge (or other home airports) for Atlanta and a non-stop overnight Delta flight to Munich, Germany.
Day 2, Thur., Sept 2 - Munich – Morning arrival in Munich. Guided sightseeing of infamous Dachau concentration camp of WWII, and Munich city tour.
Day 3, Fri., Sept 3 - Oberammergau- Morning drive to the quaint woodcarving village of Oberammergau, located in the Bovarian Alps. Shopping abounds – woodcarvings and Christmas Tree store are favorites. Afternoon and evening we attend the Passion Play, a presentation of the Biblical Story with a focus on the crucifixion and resurrection. It is in German, but with English books to follow. It is the world’s most famous. Included lunch and dinner.
Day 4, Sat., Sept 4 – Ehrwald, Austria – Morning shopping time in Oberammergau. Afternoon visit to Neuschwanstein’s “fairytale castle” built by Ludwig II, King of Bovaria and one of Europe’s premier tourist attractions. Castle was the model for Disney’s castle. Then through spectacular mountain scenery to the small Austrian village of Erhwald and the wonderful Alpen Residence and our hotel home for 5 nights. Included breakfast and dinner daily.
Day 5, Sun., Sept 5 – Erhwald – Day trip by motor coach to Balzona, Italy and the spectacular Dolomite Alps. .
Day 6, Mon., Sept 6 - Erhwald – Day trip by motor coach to Salzburg, Austria. We do the enjoyable “Sound of Music” tour (where the movie was filmed). Also do “Old Town” and Mozart’s birthplace.
Day 7, Tues., Sept 7 - Erhwald – Day trip by motor coach through Austrian Alps to visit Switzerland. Enjoy shopping and scenery.
Day 8, Wed., Sept 8 - Erhwald – Day trip by motor coach to Innsbruck, Austria for shopping and sightseeing.
Day 9, Thur., Sept 9 – Early morning departure to Munich for our Delta flight to Atlanta and then on home arriving Baton Rouge at 7:45 p.m. the same day.
