Day 1, Mon., June 25 – Wichita Falls, TX – Early morning departure (6:00 a.m.) from Zachary and Baton Rouge (6:30 a.m.), I-10 to Lafayette, I-49 to Shreveport, I-20 to Dallas. Overnight in Wichita Falls.
Day 2, Tues., June 26 – Colorado Springs, CO – Travel day through Amarillo and Raton Pass. Overnight in Colorado Springs.
Day 3, Wed., June 27 – Landers, WY – Morning tour in Colorado Springs includes Valley of the Gods and the Air Force Academy. Travel through Denver, Cheyenne and overnight near Yellowstone in Landers.
Day 4, Thurs., June 28 – Bozeman, MT – Morning drive through beautiful mountains. Stop at Jackson lake for beautiful views of the Teton Mountains. Journey through Yellowstone National Park with views of Yellowstone Lake. We stop to enjoy Old Faithful plus more highlights in Yellowstone. Overnight in Bozeman.
Day 5, Fri., June 29 – Calgary, Canada – Journey through the heart of Montana. See headwaters of Missouri River. Cross into Canada and the spectacular Canadian Rockies. Overnight Calgary.
Day 6, Sat., June 30 – Banff area – We enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Banff area including stops at the lovely Bow Falls and at the fascinating Hoodoos. Enjoy shopping in downtown Banff.
Day 7, Sun., July 1 – Banff area – Morning gondola ride with wonderful view of majestic Canadian Rockies. Afternoon visit to beautiful Lake Louise and more.
Day 8, Mon., July 2 – Banff area – A wonderful day of sightseeing as we journey along the unforgettable Icefield Parkway and see lofty waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks. At Columbia Icefield we ride on huge vehicles across this mass of glacial ice, which is over 1,000 feet thick – the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic Circle.
Day 9, Tues., July 3 – Kalispell, MT – Morning motor coach through Kootenay National Park, Radium Hot Springs, Fairmont Hot Springs to Kalispell. Montana.
Day 10, Wed., July 4 – Missoula, MT – Today we explore Glacier National Park, a naturalist’s paradise. We ride in the famous Jammer cars over one of the most breathtaking roads in North America. The “Going to the Sun Road” stretches across the Continental Divide and offers incredible views. Then along the Flathead Lake, the largest fresh water lake in the west, to Missoula.
Day 11, Thurs., July 5 – Twin Falls, ID – Through the heart of Idaho and Salmon River Valley; visit fascinating Craters of the
Moon National Monument.
Day 12, Fri., July 6 – Provo, UT - Morning visit to Snake River Canyon, where Evel Knievel attempted to jump the canyon and the Shoshone Twin Falls. On to Salt Lake City for tour; see State Capital and Mormon Square.
Day 13, Sat., July 7 – Montrose, CO – Journey to Utah’s Dead Horse Point with its amazing views of the Colorado River as it snakes its way through the massive sandstone walls and colorful canyons. We visit Arches National Park which contains the largest concentration of natural stone arches in the world. Overnight in Montrose, CO.
Day 14, Sun., July 8 – Santa Rosa, NM – Beautiful journey today through Silverton, Durango and Santa Fe. Overnight Santa Rosa.
Day 15, Mon., July 9 – Wichita Falls, TX – A travel day through Amarillo to Wichita Falls.
Day 16, Tues., July 10 – Home today, arriving late afternoon.
