Your Itinerary

Day 1, Mon., Aug. 27 – Fly from Baton Rouge (or other home airports) for overnight flight to Ireland’s capital, Dublin.

Day 2, Tues., Aug. 28 – Dublin, Ireland – Morning arrival in Dublin. Motor coach to the Boyne Valley, visit the amazing tombs of New Grange which predate the Egyptian pyramids. Then back to Dublin and check into our hotel for 2 nights.

Day 3, Wed., Aug. 29 – Dublin – Morning guided sightseeing including world famous St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Phoenix Park and Trinity College with eight century Book of Kells (bible) and magnificent old library.

Day 4, Thurs., Aug. 30 - Killarney – Today we motor coach across southern Ireland to Blarney Castle, where we will have the opportunity to kiss the famous Blarney Stone which bestows the gift of eloquence. Then on to scenic Killarney for two nights.

Day 5, Fri., Aug. 31 – Killarney – Today we embark on Ireland’s most popular scenic drive – the Ring of Kerry. This circular tour will reveal constantly changing vistas of mountains, open Atlantic Ocean, beaches and cliffs. We drive through the remote towns of Cahirsiveen and Waterville and return through the colorful village of Sneem. At Moll’s Gap stop to view the three lakes with the mountains and town in the background.

Day 6, Sat., Sept. 1 - Ennis – Today another beautiful drive – the Dingle Peninsula, one of the most majestic coastal routes in the world. Spectacular views of the Atlantic, charming coastal villages, ancient stone huts (beehive), sight of movies such as “Ryan’s Daughter” and “Far and Away”. Visit the thatched roof Adare, perhaps Ireland’s most beautiful village. Overnight in Ennis area.

Day 7, Sun., Sept. 2 – Galway area – We view the awesome Cliffs of Moher (weather permitting) rising nearly 700 feet high – a truly spectacular view of Ireland’s Atlantic coastline. Then visit the Rathbaun Farm and learn about daily life on an Irish sheep farm. Have coffee and scones in the old farmhouse.

Day 8, Mon., Sept. 3 – Londonderry – Visit the Connemara region with sweeping views of bog land and misty mountains; Cong where John Wayne filmed “The Silent Man” and the Knock pilgrimage site. Overnight near Londonderry, noted for ancient medieval walls.

Day 9, Tues., Sept. 4- Dublin – Journey across norther Ireland and visit mysterious & impressive Giant’s Causeway, an area of hexagonal columns. See the highlights of Belfast, Northern Ireland with a visit to the new Titanic Museum. Overnight in Dublin.

Day 10, Wed., Sept. 5 – Fly home arriving the same day.
